You may be wondering about the new principal of the Linden School. First and foremost, I like to call myself a teacher. I have taught the grades 3-6 in self-contained classrooms in Somerville and Newbury, Massachusetts, but I have taught all grades through eighth grade as a gifted and talented teacher and director or “coach” as they call them nowadays.
I always tell the students that I am not a doctor to go to if they have a cough or cold because I am a doctor of reading and writing. In my role as a K-12 Reading and Language Arts Curriculum Director in the town of Danvers, I helped teachers at all levels improve their students’ literacy skills.
I also have a creative side. I have a Master’s Degree in the all of the arts and have been a director of drama, art, and music. I love to direct plays and work in mixed media in basement studio to relax. I love children and have three of my own who are all in college at the moment. One might decide to be a social worker and work with kids in schools like his mother.
Before coming to Malden, I was a principal in Melrose and coincidentally, some of my parents were graduates of the Linden School. What a small world!
