I am thrilled to be the principal of the Salemwood Middle School. Having worked for the Malden Public Schools since 1986, it is my greatest joy to be back at the middle school level. My goal is to foster a "true middle school" experience for all students which will prepare them academically and socially to be successful in high school. This is accomplished by modeling and advocating for an effective, student-centered, standards-based learning environment in our school. I welcome the opportunity to get to know all students by encouraging and providing a positive team atmosphere and lifelong learning environment through collaboration, mutual respect, and educational excellence. My favorite quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson "The secret of education is respect for the pupil" truly states my belief that all students can and will be successful at the Salemwood Middle School.
